RAMEER (THE GOD DIRTY BACKPACKS)
The god grew up on Buffalo’s East Side, like so many Blacks have before and after him. At an early age, he exhibited a love for music, TV, film, and entertainment. Raised with a strong sense of history and pride in both the culture and history of both his Black and Panamanian ancestors, he attended the finest schools he could – first, the progressively forward Catholic school Diocesan Educational Campus (D.E.C.), then the Jesuit-run Canisius High School, where he was the first freshman allowed into that high schools TV and film class. He learned at such a rapid pace that by his sophomore year he had written and organized his own TV show – a show called “Teen Talk”, which he ran, edited, produced, and wrote, along with his Jesuit mentor Mr. Adelmo Dunghe. The show centered on issues important to the young Black and Latino community in Buffalo and had an overwhelming Hip Hop presence. It came n public access in Buffalo from 1990-1991.
He continued his studies, and graduated only to attend Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public communication, of the top 3 communication schools in he country. There, he immersed himself in learning about film-making, TV production, and even learned some Radio production. He went on to work on and produce numerous projects there, and including a short film his senior year, “This Boy’s Rice”, a Kung Fu comedy that won his film crew recognition at a student film festival on campus.
It was at Syracuse that Dirty Backpacks would meet Blast Boogie, who shared the same love of music and entertainment, especially Hip Hop. The two became fast friends, and to this day maintain an extremely tight and loyal bond.
Dirty graduated and returned to Buffalo and began working at the ABC affiliate WKBW-TV, where he met General Manager Bill Ransom, Programming Director John Disciullo, and his current partners in Western New York Minority Media Professionals (WNYMMP), Sufana Wajed and Michael Quinniey. It was this group of people responsible for helping him achieve the position he is at today….
In 2002, Dirty joined forces with the creator of the public access show named Late Nite Noise to bring that show to Channel 7. The show enjoyed great success during its run and became Western New York and Southern Ontario’s #1 Hip Hop TV show during the time that Dirty produced it.
Now, along with partners Blast Boogie and DJ Kholes, he has come up with Western New York’s premiere music TV show, Official Heat.
Richard Chiriboga (BLAST BOOGIE)
Richard Chiriboga began his involvement in the music and entertainment industry during his time at Syracuse University. As an on-air personality on the “Milk Crate” Show, he soon became HipHop Director of Syracuse University’s AM Station. Richard Majored in Information Studies in the I.S.T College at Syracuse University. During the upcoming summers, Richard interned at Island Records where he learned parts of the business under many A&R’s. His love for music was also backed by his actual profession of Web Design & Development. Now he balances both worlds by being the designer and developer for some of today’s major HipHop websites. His involvement in the Official Heat TV Show includes being the co-creator, Website developer and shares duties in bringing forth ideas for the show along side Rameer Green. In January of 2005 Richard became part of one of the major HipHop websites (HipHopHavoc.com) and developed many of the ideas and direction the website has taken to get the site from 5 million page views a month to just under 20 million page views a month in just under 1 year. No longer part of that website, Richard has devoted his full attention to making both the TV show and website for Official Heat a success.
He has also created one of the premier websites dedicated to Latin Music & Entertainment via the CorrienteLatina.com website. Launched in October 2005, it has quickly become one of the more respective Latin Music & Entertainment websites garnering the respect of Record labels, industry executives, artist and other websites alike.
