Critical Praise for Anthony Hamilton:

“One of the most important R&B artists of his generation” – Newsweek

“One of the music industry’s best-kept secrets.” – People Magazine

The Song & Video:

Anthony Hamilton takes us back to our soulful roots on his video for “Cool” featuring David Banner. The video features shots of Hamilton and his girl relaxing at home, driving through the southern countryside and dealing with tribulations. The story highlights how good it feels be in love even when life’s occasional difficulties come along. Reassuring his girl over the hardships they face, Hamilton sings, “If you’re cool / Then I’m cool / Then we’re cool …Quit your crying lady / We can conquer the world.”  The southern drawl and raw persona of David Banner complements the comforting vocals of Hamilton to give the song a dynamic edge. Hamilton’s new album The Point Of It All hits stores on December 16th.

The Background:

Anthony Hamilton, a Charlotte, North Carolina native is a six-time Grammy nominated singer/songwriter who has been wooing fans with his soulful vocal stylings for years. Hamilton started his career as a youngster singing in his church. As a teenager he made his rounds in the local Charlotte nightclub and talent show circuit. A 1993 trek to New York City resulted in his signing with UpTown Records. Thus began a six-label odyssey that tested Hamilton’s patience and perseverance. Hamilton’s career-molding break arrived in 2002 when he sang the infectious hook on the Nappy Root’s “Po’ Folks.”  That performance netted the singer his first Grammy nominations for best rap/sung collaboration- and a new label, Jermaine Dupri’s So So Def imprint. A year later his platinum debut, Coming From Where I’m From was released. It was followed by the gold-certified Ain’t Nobody Worryin. Anthony Hamilton’s upcoming album The Point Of It All shows growth in subject matter, songwriting, and vocal experimentation. Chock full of romantic love songs as well as up-tempo tracks, the album proves that Anthony Hamilton is a talent to be reckoned with. The Point Of It All will be released on December 16, 2008 on So So Def/Zomba Label Group.
